1/2 cabbage – shredded finely 3 stalks celery – finely chopped 6 large fresh shiitake mushrooms – sliced 2 large carrots – sliced 1 large onion – sliced 3 inches ginger – peeled and sliced 4 cloves garlic – peeled and left whole 1 inch fresh turmeric – peeled (optional) 1 large bunch fresh cilantro (stems and leaves) 4 small sheets seaweed (approx. 2 x 4 inches each) – optional Himalayan or Maldon sea salt (to taste) Pepper (to taste) 1.5 liters filtered water
Preparation Method Add all the ingredients to a large soup pot. Pour in 1.5 liters of boiling filtered water. Let it simmer for 1 hour until the vegetables are soft. Add salt and pepper to taste after cooking. Strain the broth and serve warm.
How to Consume
Drink one cup of the broth daily. It is best consumed warm, either on an empty stomach or between meals.
Important Note
You may discard the vegetables after cooking, as most of their mineral content will have infused into the broth.
